About Membership

The Noon Optimist Club of Niles is always looking for men and women with a positive outlook on life and who want to make a difference in the lives of the youth of our community. If this describes you, please join us for lunch upstairs at the Riverfront Cafe, 219 N. Front Street in Niles on almost any Tuesday at 12:00 noon. Occasionally we will not meet on a particular Tuesday, but this will be noted in our Calendar of Activities.

Membership is by invitation only, and each new member requires the sponsorship of one or more existing members of the Club. Our members form a diverse cross-section of the community, so there is a good chance that you already know a few of us.

The following explains the process of becoming a member of the Noon Optimist Club of Niles.

Application: You will be asked to complete a membership application which must be accompanied by a $25.00 application fee. This fee covers initiation expenses, your lapel pin, membership certificate, etc. Click HERE to download and print a membership application.

Announcement: Your membership application will be read before the general membership two times.

Acceptance: Following the two announcements at regular meetings your application will be voted upon by the Club Board of Directors.

Induction: After approval by the Board of Directors, you will be inducted into the Club at a regular meeting. At this time you will receive your lapel pin, membership certificate, name badge, etc.

Dues: After your induction you will be billed at the rate established by the Club. Currently the dues are $120.00 annually, billed quarterly.

Participation: As a member of the Club you will be given the opportunity to participate in one or more of the youth activity and community service projects sponsored by the Club. All members are encouraged to attend meeting of the Board of Directors to express their ideas concerning Club operation and to suggest new projects.
