The Optimist Soccer League Coaching Handbook is now available for online viewing. It is a large (46 page) .pdf file, but is a wealth of information for all new and experienced coaches. Please take the time to read through it and enhance your coaching experience in the Optimist Soccer League. Each of the approximately 80 teams in the Optimist Soccer League will need a dedicated head coach, who may elect to have one or more assistant coaches or co-head coaches. Many of our coaches are parents of the players. If you would like to be the head coach of your child's team, please indicate so in the appropriate section of the player application form. If you do not have a child playing Optimist Soccer, but enjoy working with energetic young people, please click HERE to send us an email expressing your interest in being either a head coach or an assistant coach. Head coaches are chosen by the League when the teams are formed. We will provide to the designated head coach a list of interested assistant coaches. All coaches are subject to a background check. Please click HERE to print a volunteer disclosure form. These forms will be collected from ALL coaches and volunteers at the coaches meeting, which will be scheduled for mid-March.
